THERAPY SERVICES
Our services include but are not limited to:
PAIN MANAGEMENT
Our physiotherapists have a passion for helping patients understand their pain and the different ways of overcoming pain in their daily lives. We assist the patient with treatment modalities suited to the patient’s specific needs such as joint mobilisation, hands-on techniques, exercise therapy and pain education.
PHYSICAL REHABILITATION
Rehabilitation aims to optimise a patient’s function and health so that they are able to be integrated back into their chosen leisure, home and work lifestyle activities. The patient and therapist set and work towards realistic goals for functional improvement. Rehabilitation can be a process used to recover from an injury, a disease or the management of long-term conditions such as paraplegia and Parkinsons. Rehabilitation takes into account various components of the patient’s life such as social, home and work responsibilities to establish a comprehensive rehabilitation plan suited to the patient.
PREVENTION OF INJURY AND ILLNESS
Preventative therapy focuses on preventing the onset of injury, re-injury or disease. This includes creating a treatment plan aimed at reducing the occurrence of non-communicable diseases (such as obesity and diabetes), reducing the risk of falls or sport specific injury and re-injury.
CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS
Individuals who have chronic health problems can learn how to improve their health through increasing physical activity safely and making healthier lifestyle choices under the guidance of a physiotherapist. The aim is to prevent/delay any complications related to the chronic health condition and to improve overall quality of life.
DRY NEEDLING
Dry needling is an invasive technique where a “dry” needle is inserted through the skin into the muscle tissue in an aim to reduce pain and muscle related symptoms. Dry needling is typically one technique that forms part of a larger treatment plan.
STRESS MANAGEMENT
Stress is a big part of our everyday lives and it is important that we take control of it before it takes control of us. Stress education, mindfullness, pilates and deep breathing exercises are just some of the ways our physiotherapists can assist you.
